Great News!
Last Monday night November 16th I walked from Mark Shale to Brooks Brothers in the St. Louis Galleria. It took me 30 minutes and I was tired when I reached Brooks Brothers. It was cute because Mary had a few things to purchase and return. As she would come out of one store she would check on my progress.

Then on Friday November 20th I was tested again. I walked 70% farther than I walked 8 weeks ago in 6 minutes.

Today, Merideth suggested it was time for “tough love”. Which means after my Physical Therapy I left my wheelchair in the car and the rest of the day I am walking with my walker. I have to get my mind around this transition. It will require me thinking ahead and planning time to go from one place to the next.

I have had plateaus when it wasn’t my experience that I was improving and then here I am reporting fairly sizable improvements. So my goal this week is to leave the wheelchair in the car. And the only fear is in the middle of the night and going to the bathroom in the dark and taking a shower in the morning…I will let you know how it goes!

    Mike,
I love running into you and Mary shopping at the Galleria. Next time I hope to see you walking. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. We all have much to be thankful for.
