On Friday August 14th I met with Cathy from the Rehab institute of St. Louis. Shawn picked her as the most experienced PT who specializes in Nuromuscular rehab. Shawn and Jeff had sent her plenty of information about my condition as well as the base line measurements used to evaluate my condition currently.
We set up appointments starting September 1st and we will continue beyond my next trip to Tacoma. At the Rehab Institute they have a tread mill that will allow me to walk supported and begin to develop my movements without full weight barring on my legs.
Saturday I swam 12 laps of the 50 meter pool at Shaw Park and was pretty tired after that. There is something about that swimming that causes my spasticity engage and give me fatigue in my leg muscles.
On Friday, I also walked form the garage to the end of the driveway to pick up the news paper and back on my walker and it took 25 minutes. I walk very slowly down the driveway and fairly fast up the drive. Of course fast is actually slow and slow is quite, quit slow.
This week I will meet with an acupuncturist friend of Shawn’s for evaluation and explore the idea of balance through acupuncture and herbal supplements…
